| My parents are Steven and Mellie (Stout) Miller. My father is
originally from California, and my mom is from Ohio. They celebrated
their 25th anniversary in May of this year. I inherited much of my personality from my father, which has been by turns amusing, frustrating, and amusing. I got a lot of my father's looks, too, including my personal scourge, an aggressively square jawline! This is not to imply that my mother had no effect upon me, genetically speaking. She had to be the source of the genes for music, art, writing, and my persistently abstract way of thinking! Among other things, my father has worked as an electrician, a copier repairman, and a wastewater treatment plant operator. He now works on power turbines. My mother, too, has had many occupations, ranging from teaching French to working construction. My favorite thing about my mother, though, is her musical versatility. She plays many instruments, all of them with some degree of ability. She taught herself the oboe and bassoon, which is no mean accomplishment. |
